It was, it really really was. I mean, I think I'm supposed to be annoyed by the Bechdel-fail, but in fact the whole thing gives me life. (I perpetually kick around the idea of writing something that pulls together all the bits of Grace's characterization into one coherent whole -- I can see how it could be done!* -- and one of the great draws of that would be getting to dig into the sheer explosion of MUCHNESS that must have been Grace and Polly encountering each other for the first time after, you know, the whole Campbell business.)
(I also mention, in the division of They Fucking Know They're Doing This, that bit in 2.02 where Polly turns up to the Garrison shitfaced in her red dress. And the aftermath thereof.)
* All you have to do is assume she NEVER STOPPED working for Churchill; it doesn't even out and out contradict anything that actually happens onscreen.
