Random first post is first (and random)!

jouissantWow, lately I just can't get enough of the het. I've posted a couple of prompts over at het_idcrack and that community is seriously making my pervy little head spin. Totally excited for claiming to start and thinking I might jump in.
Speaking of jumping in, I feel kind of like I'm taking a leap off a high dive posting an entry in this journal. I created it in 2005 (how was that five years ago?!) as a space for combining fandom and academic stuff, as at one point I was pretty sure my life was headed to academia-land. Ah, how times have changed- you couldn't pay me to go back to school right now (ok, that's a lie, you totally could) and all the awesome fanworks I thought I was going to turn out, mostly in Harry Potter fandom, never quite materialized. And then I sort of fell out of online fandom, coming back every few months to read good old angsty Snarry fics. And then came the weekend in January when my husband was out of town and I had a movie marathon. And I watched the new Star Trek. And it ATE MY LIFE. So I watched a whole bunch of TOS, and the first three movies.
And I suddenly have so much stuff I'm curious about, so much I want to explore, and lo, there are awesome people writing and thinking about these characters and their stories on good old LJ. And so I'm back.
